Health Information Management

Purpose

To promote professional, congenial, and harmonious social relationships
within the membership of the Health Information Management Section.
To provide and act as a clearinghouse among the members for the receipt, exchange, and dissemination of information in Management Support to promote progress and procedures.
To constantly foster and promote better and more uniform Management Support standards.
To conduct meetings for the discussion and study of problems in the field of Management Support.

Officers

The officers of the Health Information Management Section are elected annually at the Educational Conference of NCPHA. The 2008 board officers:

Who is Health Information Management Support

While any member of NCPHA can join the Health Information Management Section, this Section's membership is primarily comprised of individuals who work in management support positions; i.e., administrative/finance, data entry, computer support, receptionist, vital records, support personnel in various program areas, etc. An individual must be a member of NCPHA to qualify for membership in any Section.

By becoming a member of the Health Information Management Section, you have the benefit of receiving newsletters and other information which keeps you informed of any changes in public health, along with the opportunity of voicing your opinions on major concerns.

During the NCPHA Annual Educational Conference, in addition to the General Sessions and other beneficial meetings, the Health Information Management Section sponsors informative workshops for its members and others who are interested. There is also a Business Meeting where activities of the section are discussed, new officers are installed, and peers are recognized. In addition to the various awards offered though NCPHA, the Health Information Management Section presents an "Outstanding Management Support Achiever of the Year" award and Service Awards.
