Get your CPH -- Certified in Public Health
Want some more initials to add to the end of your name? The National Board of Public Examiners encourages public heath professionals to get certified. Credentialing of public health graduates is integral to the growth and to the effectiveness of our field. Credentialing will raise awareness of the important contributions of the public health workforce to the protecting of the nation's health and safety. 2008 Annual Education Conference Theme
The theme of this year's conference will be Showcasing North Carolina's Public Health: People, Pride, and Professionalism. Check back for conference updates, developments, and this year's Wood Lecturer.

Teens as Parents Program
Teens as Parents (TAP) is a teen pregnancy prevention program that supports teens in obtaining prenatal health care, learning parenting skills, and learning decision-making skills while continuing their education; reduces preterm birth rates; and prevents subsequent teen pregnancy. Results: TAP serves approximately 100 teens each year in rural Harnett County, NC. The teen pregnancy rate in Harnett County declined dramatically from 46th in 2005 to 78th in 2006 out of 100 counties in North Carolina. Learn more...
